Bayou City Wings Restaurants is partnering up with Pasadena Independent School District (PISD) schools to highlight student athlete’s achievement on their in-house network system.

The restaurant will be interviewing the student athletes, as well as their coaches, about previous and upcoming sports events. Sports include, but are not limited to: Football, Soccer, Baseball, Volleyball, and Tennis. Students will be featured on their show through nominations given by their coaches and awarded coupons they’re able to redeem in the restaurant. This project is planned to launch sometime during the summer.

Currently, the restaurant hosts “Sports Minute” – a sports show with sports enthusiast Max Thweatt – where local and national sports topics are covered. The vision is to collaborate “Sports Minute” with “BCW Local Sports” to expand interest in the show, and feature the local community that makes up Bayou City Wings.

The end goal of this project includes:

  • Reaching out to the local community to promote further sales
  • Expanding social media engagement by featuring followers and their friends/family
  • Pursue a different Marketing technique that involves little to no budget.

If you know a student athlete and would like to nominate one email their name, contact information, and school they attend to mo@mybcw.com

Today, February, 22nd is National Margarita Day! Whoever decided to dedicate a whole day to the drink is a genius. As if us Texans needed an excuse to consume unhealthy amounts of the tart cocktail. Unfortunately, most working people can’t spend the day sipping on margs on a beach in Mexico, right? Right, but that doesn’t mean you can’t head to Bayou City Wings® after a long day at the office and chill out with a couple of drinks.

Wonder how the margarita came to be? So do we! There isn’t a set-in-stone tale about how, or where, or who concocted the first margarita, but there are a few interesting ones. One of our favorites is the story of the Texas socialite, Margaret “Margarita” Sames. In 1948, Sames was hosting a house party in Acapulco, Mexico for friends including the founder of Hilton Hotels—Nick Hilton. Margaret was said to have mixed up the worlds very first margarita using Cointreau, that night.

Today the refreshing drink is recognized all over the world and in a variety of different ways. From a margarita “on the rocks”—which is served over ice, to a “frozen” margarita—which comes in the form of a frozen slush, the choices are endless. Here at BCW® we offer a bunch of different margs for you to choose from and at a $3 special price for National Margarita Day. So what are you waiting for? Mexico may be a little far, but Bayou City Wings® is right around the corner and ready to serve up some drinks!
